Trainee Client Accountant / Assistant Accountant

£24,000-25,000 per annum

A leading property management business based in central Brighton is seeking a dynamic and driven finance professional to join its growing team.

This is a broad-facing role, with close contact to the Financial Controller, and development prospects. My client is ideally looking for experience relating to sales ledger and account reconciliations. My client will consider junior-level candidates who are actively studying their AAT and are highly career-focused. You will be hard-working, and detail-focused, and show skills in relationship-building and an analytical mindset.

Working within a small team, you’ll have fantastic exposure to all the financial aspects of this busy and vibrant business. The position comes with excellent progression opportunities, with the chance to grow and develop internally and full study support on offer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Producing standard monthly and quarterly client statements.
  • Transferring of client funds via the property management software and then via online banking.
  • Dealing with client, property manager, and tenant queries.
  • Assistance with the closing of old and the creation of new managements – interpreting financial data from previous agents and providing reconciliations to pass over to new agents.
  • Assistance with producing non-standard monthly and quarterly client statements.
  • Preparation of service charge year ends.
  • Assistance towards the preparation of VAT returns.
  • Providing cover to daily system reconciliation and monthly RICS reconciliation.
