Are you an experienced interim professional looking for your next assignment? We are assisting our client, a rapidly growing technology-focused business specialising in energy data and services, in finding a qualified interim Management Accountant to work in their Bristol office.

As an Interim Management Accountant, your responsibilities will include preparing and managing financial accounts, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and collaborating with the finance team and other departments to provide insightful financial analysis, support decision-making, and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, financial accounts, and forecasts within agreed timescales.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts within 15 working days after the period close.
  • Manage prepayments, inventory, work in progress (WIP), and accrual postings.
  • Prepare monthly revenue reconciliation reports.
  • Assist in preparing the annual budget and year-end financial statements.
  • Reconcile the company bank account daily and prepare a monthly cash flow forecast.
  • Conduct inter-company reconciliations.
  • Manage the fixed assets register.
  • Provide analytical support to the senior management team.
  • Improve the timing, content, and accuracy of financial and management reporting.
  • Ensure accurate VAT posting and reporting in line with HMRC guidelines.
  • Prepare and submit monthly CIS (Construction Industry Scheme).
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to non-financial team members.
  • Perform thorough customer reconciliations to identify and rectify discrepancies.
  • Assist in the preparation of all year-end functions and coordinate with external auditors.
  • Provide cross-support across the Group.
  • Attend and contribute to monthly management meetings.
  • Maintain a robust internal control environment, identifying and addressing control weaknesses to improve efficiency and transparency.
  • Proactively work to enhance controls over revenue assurance.
The successful candidate will be:
  • A fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with post-qualified experience
  • Evidence of holding full responsibility for producing monthly accounts as well as quarterly and year-end reporting.
  • Able to demonstrate strong core technical accounting knowledge
  • Available to start immediately
